So, all kinds of plotting and planning are afoot to herald the physical arrival of my album, 'Fantastic Animals.' The time of multiple ideas and planning is always a precarious one for me. Once they start flowing, these ideas gather momentum as they come thicker and faster and, sometimes, they cannot be stopped. What can we afford to put in the goodie bags for the launch party? How can I get a marching band to perform some of my songs with me? Can I film 13 live performances, each in a different and well-known location around Detroit without spending thousands of dollars? What if, instead of performing live, I just make an awesome short film to show at gigs? As a former girlfriend used to say, I have champagne taste and beer pockets.

But, it's funny: people are actually responding to some of my crazy ideas. So I use this as an excuse to come up with more crazy ideas. The fun never ends! I'm trying to hold back, especially after last years' shenanigans (see Song Explosion)! The best thing about being at the place where I'm at now - mentally as well as physically - is that I have people around me who share my 'why-the-hell-not?' ethos. And let's face it, it's pretty awesome to look back and say, "wow. Remember when we did THAT?" So, the ideas and crazy dreams keep coming. Some of them may not get off the drawing board but it's scary how many of them actually do!
